How to make coconut cream

Coconuts are a key ingredient in Samoan cooking. Every part of the coconut is used. You can eat the
flesh raw or use it for cooking, you can drink the juice, the shell makes a handy cup or, together with the
husks, you can fuel a cooking fire. The most widely used product from the coconut is coconut cream,
so let me describe how the cream is traditionally made.

You will need:
Coconut /popo
Knife
Scraper
Coconut husk
Bowl


Method
  1. First  collect all of your equipment you will need and place the coconut scraper on a chair
  2. Next crack the coconut shell with the back of the knife carefully while rotating the coconut shell.
  3. Pull the shell in half.
  4. Afterwards get the coconut scraper and scrape out the coconut flesh from the coconut shell but do
  5. not scrape too hard.
  6. Once the coconut flesh is scraped out of the shell gather the coconut flesh inside the coconut
  7. husk.
  8. Squeeze the coconut flesh and husk firmly twisting until the cream seeps out.
  9. Use the delicious coconut cream in all your favourite dishes.
